        Maternity, Birth, Newborn, Baby

Welcome to my maternity and newborn gallery!

A couple quick things to know about my maternity / newborn work…

Maternity sessions typically take place around week 34 of pregnancy and can take place indoors or outdoors (or both)… Babies are best photographed in the first 10 days of their new little lives at home. If we have missed the window, it is still okay to schedule your maternity / newborn session, this is just the ideal circumstance for photos.

Maternity / Newborn sessions are $425 for 1-2 hours and includes the entire family (up to five). You will receive the full resolution digital files, an online gallery along with printing rights to the files.

Birth / “baby’s first year” packages are available, please inquire for pricing.

        Q&A

        Q.
        What is your style?
        A.
My style is photojournalistic. I want to tell the story of what life is like with your little one home with you. In order to best tell your story, and keep baby comfortable, I like to do my sessions at your home (for babies under 6 months)... When I arrive, I will look around your home to find the best light. Most often, photos are done in the master bedroom. I use natural light for my newborn photography, so it's helpful to schedule your session when the light is best in your home.
        Q.
        Will you bring props?
        A.
I don't come to sessions with a lot of props or lighting. If you'd like to include any special items, please feel free to have them out (knits photograph really well). If you are interested in more of a studio experience (props, lighting, posing) please let me know and I can refer to some studios.
        Q.
        How will the session flow?
        A.
My goal is to capture photos of your baby, baby with each family member and also the family all together. In addition, I will look for any details around your house that tell the story of your new addition. I also look for moments. If your baby is crying and you need to soothe and cuddling, that makes for a beautiful photograph. Even diaper changes can be a great opportunity to document life in your home right now.
        Q.
How can we schedule with you?
        A.
Once you decide to schedule a session with me, we will set a tentative date based on your due date. I understand that babies rarely come when predicted and I will accommodate their personal plans for arrival. But a due date will give us a baseline. Once your infant is born, please get in touch with me and we will firm up our date and time.
        Q.
        What else should I know?
        A.
It is very important to me that you feel safe having me into your home to take photos. The first thing I will do is wash my hands and I'm also have to use sanitizer. If I am at all sick, I will be sure to let you know so we can reschedule. I also will ask permission before handling your baby during our session and will check in with you often to be sure that you feel comfortable. Please be sure to let me know prior to the session if there are any special concerns or needs.
        Q.
        Do you offer gift sessions?
        A.
I most certainly do! I thing maternity / newborn sessions or packages make the perfect gift. I'm happy to provide a gift certificate and will contact the new parents once they have received the gift. This is perfect win-win for the out of state grandparent!
